"Trakt IV", Sophia Kesting & Dana Lorenz, 2017–2019
"Trakt IV" provides an exclusive, subjective insight into the different subcultures of the Leipzig techno club "Institut fuer Zukunft" (IFZ) and was photographed by Sophia Kesting & Dana Lorenz between 2017 and 2019.
In close cooperation with the club itself and in agreement with the existing 'No Photo Policy', a sensitive collection of images has emerged that addresses the various manifestations and conditions of the social space.
Between open and closed club, the medium format colour photographs show the actual physical space, its surfaces and materialities, the ephemerality of the moment, the visitors between proximity & distance and the work of the crew in the background.
"Trakt IV" was presented for the first time in 2019 as an intermedial exhibition project consisting of a 5-channel projection with a sound collage, posterized photographs and literary texts at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig.
With the friendly support of the Kulturamt Leipzig and the Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation.
